I teach Pre-K through 2nd grade Art Education. I have been teaching art from a cart for two years. My students and I just received a new art room! Starting an art room from scratch should be fun but help is needed! My students are from a diverse community which is a low-income/high poverty school district. Many students have never used markers, scissors, glue, or paint before they come to school. Needless to say, these students are excited and eager to be able to use art materials.
Teaching Pre-K through 2nd allows me to share my creativity and passion for art while introducing these students to art materials.
Each one of my students loves exploring and experimenting with new materials. "Creativity is contagious, pass it on."- Albert Einstein. Creating a beautiful, colorful, and creative space for my students to create art in is my goal.
My Project
Many of my students are high energy! I do know that children are forced to sit in typical seating to complete their work for most of their day and the cost of alternative seating, sadly, does not fit in most classroom budgets. I would love to be able to provide students with accessibility to alternative seating with Neorok stools.
Alternative seating such as motion stools are proven to enhance students' concentration and attentiveness.
Many students also thrive in small groups. Working at an Apollo Activity Horseshoe table with Neorok stools allows me to pull students to work in small groups in an interactive and comfortable table setting.
