My Students

My students come from a small, rural community. Our school is a K-2 building where 60% of the students are on free or reduced lunch. Despite any challenges my students face, each and every one of them strive to be the best second-grader they can be each day.

I strive to give my students real life experiences on a daily basis that will push them to learn up to their fullest potential.

My goal is to teach them to become life-long learners!

My Project

My students come to school eager to learn each and every day. However, they struggle to stay engaged when they have to sit in hard seats all day long. Many of the students get restless and very fidgety throughout the day.

I would love to incorporate flexible seating into our everyday routine and am requesting Wobble Chairs and Soft seat cushions .

I truly feel this will lead to a more comfortable environment which will allow students to continue to be engaged.

With flexible seating in the classroom, students will be able to choose where they would like to sit during small group time, reading workshop and writing workshop.

This will allow students to choose where they think they can do their best work and succeed.
