I work in a community where education is valued by students and parents. There is a desire to learn, grow and expand beyond their generalized demographic.
It is such a joy to be in a community where parents are asking teachers what they can do to assist the learning at home.
Our school and the district are advancing on the grading scale from the Department of Education and it is because of the help of the community around us, we are able to continue to grow.
My Project
In classrooms today, students need nontraditional seating options for learning. They need seating that wobbles, has texture, allows them to work on the floor, and provide resistance as various ways to stimulate learning. All of the items on my wish list meet the needs of nontraditional learners and provide variety for a diverse classroom.
The ability to have nontraditional seating options in the classroom is vital to the success of today's students.
Students are so diverse today, that the traditional desk/chair furniture of the typical public school classroom is completely ineffective. Cushions, pillows, wobble chairs, and floor seating is an excellent alternative for a vastly diverse set of classroom learners.
