Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are the heart of my school. They are so pure and eager to learn. They are risk-takers that work hard every day to better improve their abilities. They love to sing and dance. They especially love to learn through play. I find great joy in watching them mature into amazing scholars every day. My students are incredible future leaders that I know will make a huge impact someday.

My Project

I am asking for your assistance in the purchase of these amazing alphabet books. I love them because they feature an adorable and relatable character Dusty on each page that introduces letter sounds. It is very rare that my students find books where they are represented. This alphabet book would help students see themselves as they further develop their reading skills. The books will be used to teach and review letter sounds. Students will be allowed to travel back and forth between home and school with their own personal books. The impact would be incredible because so many of my young students do not own books at home. Gifting each child with their own alphabet sounds book/coloring book would allow them to practice their alphabet sounds in class and at home. Building phonics and phonemic awareness is essential for developing reading skills. These books would help mold confident and literate students that will find joy in reading and learning.
