Help me give my students the chance to listen to ABC books to help them learn about the alphabet letters.
This project expired on December 2, 2019.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
I teach Kindergarten at a small K-5 grade school in the foothills of NC. My students are sweet kids who are eager to learn. Some of my students have never had the opportunity to go to preschool, so this is their first experience in a classroom.
My students are just starting their school experience and are in awe of learning.
Everything is new to them, and they are excited about what they are learning. They also have varied backgrounds, so they come to me with different levels of skill. They are ready to get started, and I want to give them the best start possible.
The alphabet is at the center of all we do in Kindergarten to teach young students to read. I want my students to have a love for the alphabet and a desire to learn more about the letters by sharing good alphabet literature with my class. I want my students to not only recognize the alphabet letters but also learn the sounds that the letters make by seeing examples of words that start with those sounds. I also want my students to learn the order of the alphabet by hearing examples of the alphabet shared from A to Z. All these things will help my students to become excited about learning to read!
