My Students

My students are some of the funniest, most loving, and kindest kids I've ever had the pleasure to know. I am constantly amazed at their tenacity and heart. They have come from dozens of countries, speak many different languages and have faced challenges by ten years old that many people never do in their lives. My students face these hurdles and yet they laugh, learn and sing their hearts out every time I see them in music class. They love music and it's my goal to help them experience the joy and life changing power of making and listening to good music.

My Project

Last year we acquired ten ukuleles through DonorsChoose.org, thanks to a few generous donors. We piloted a ukulele program and it was a massive success! The students in 3rd, 4th and 5th grade were partnered up three to a uke.

We are looking to increase our ukulele count so we can practice one on one and have even more time to build skills and express ourselves musically.

I'm requesting a 10-Pack of Soprano Ukuleles.

The ukulele is an inexpensive instrument and can be such a powerful tool in the hands of a young musician. Learning ukulele is a skill they will be able to take with them any where they go for the rest of their lives.
