My Students

What makes our students at our elementary school special is their resiliency towards all the challenges life may throw at them. More than half of our students come from low socioeconomic status and continue to get up in the morning, get ready, and come to school to learn.

School is their safe place and we as educators would like to do all that we can to ensure their experience here at our elementary school is one to remember.

My Project

To help encourage positive behaviors, our school has created our ALOHA MAKEKE (Aloha Market). This market hold a number of incentive prizes that can be used for students to buy with the tickets they earn through making good choices. We asked our students what were some things they really wanted and would work hard for and these were just a few of what the selected. We are loving the fact that our kiddos are excited to make good choices to earnt tickets and buy prizes so we want to be able to provide them some cool incentives to reward them for their had work! This Aloha Makeke also teachers them the value of working hard to earn what they want, the importance of saving to earn bigger prizes, and the appreciation we feel for them as a school by choosing love.
