My students are from Marion Indiana and I travel from one school to another school. Most of my students come from little to no income homes. Our goal in the art room is to create an environment that welcomes creativity and provides an opportunity for them to grow and explore their imagination with new experiences. From Kindergarten to 4th grade I see well over 700 hundred students within our 8 day rotation. We value the arts at our school. Unfortunately, we don't always have the opportunity to purchase new and exciting supplies. Visual Art has a significant place in education and no subject can offer more opportunities for the development of creativity. Our students deserve to continue to grow and receive the best experience in the art room. Without these basic supplies, it can be challenging. With this many students privileged with art class, we go through paper and material very quickly.
My Project
Creating new experiences for students through the arts is our goal this school year! Getting students to explore new processes and materials as they engage in the arts is so important to us. We need your help! These students are in need of supplies and funds for the art room. We are in need of basic supplies from paper and markers to the messy stuff such as paints and clay. Coming from homes where they may have close to nothing, the art room can be a place for them to show off their talents! And these students are talented! With these basic improvements, every child will have the opportunity to explore their creativity through the arts. Together, we can make this year a fun and awesome journey in the art room.
