My Students

Welcome to The Exceptional "W's" program! Our program serves students with a variety of disabilities in the self contained setting. Our school is a high poverty school in the Low Country of South Carolina. The majority of our students receive free or reduced lunch.

The purpose of our program is to equip our students with the academic, functional, and job skills needed to succeed in the world!

It is our pleasure to be able to teach these skills to our students, however, sometimes we need help providing all the things we need to help our program run smoothly.

My Project

We have a lovely sensory area in the back of my classroom thanks to the generous donors from Donors Choose. We need ONE more thing to complete this area. My kiddos love to sit on the floor in order to mellow out. I have hard floor in my room which does not make the floor a comfy pace to sit. This rug (and the vacuum to keep it clean) will enhance my student's sensory time by giving them a nice place to sit!

A comfortable place to sit (or lie) on the floor can make all the difference in the world in our sensory corner!
