I teach 3 to 5 year-olds with special needs. My students have significant learning delays in the areas of adaptive skills, cognitive skills, motor skills, social skills, and communication. They come from a variety of different households, many of them are low income and can't afford to send in the basic necessities.
I generally have 12 to 15 students in my class each year.
There are many items that are needed to make my classroom a fun learning environment. My students are learning how to play and interact socially.
My Project
The items on my list will give my students the opportunity to learn by touching and feeling different objects. The other sensory items will be a great asset to my sensory center. My students come from homes that are single parent and low income families.
These sensory buckets, paint and the sand will be used to give the students different textures to touch and feel.
My students love to touch and feel things with their hands.
They are always exploring the classroom. My students and I will be very grateful for your assistance in helping us get these items. Thank you in advance for your assistance in helping me create this new sensory center and hands on learning that will allow me to bring the story to life for my students.
