My students need interactive quality digital resources such as Flocabulary and Brain POP Jr. to supplement whole group instruction and independent student work within our classroom literacy stations.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I work in a low-income community and teach in a school primarily populated with a diverse group of students from low-income families. But as I enter the school building and make my way to my classroom each morning, that thought becomes a distant memory. Once my students begin to fill the classroom, I see nothing but potential and opportunities! I work with a wonderful group of 4th-grade students. They are eager, energetic learners who enjoy reading and learning new things.
I look forward to going to work every day so that I can experience the joy in their eyes of learning new things and having fun while doing it!
My Project
Flocabulary and BrainPOP's wide selection of interactive lessons and videos will help improve student reading stamina, problem-solving, comprehension, and information retention.
I want to tap into my students love of the web, electronics, and 'All Things Digital', to enhance student learning.
I've used Flocabulary with students in the past, and I have seen first hand the joy of learning, excitement, and individual success of students! Its use of standards-based lessons, videos, and rap songs make learning fun!
Both Flocabulary and BrainPOP Jr. will be used to increase opportunities for student success during whole group and independent literacy work stations.
