Help me give my students an experience with the performing arts! I am taking them to see Shakespeare's "A Winter's Tale" after we spend time studying Shakespeare and reading one of his plays in our class this year.

I teach English as a second language and my students are mostly refugees from all over the world. Many of them have experienced traumatic experiences in their home countries and have gone through a lot to get to the United States. They care about getting a good education and work hard. They even go above and beyond by volunteering for community service and helping new students get acclimated when they arrive!
Despite all of the hardships and challenges that these students have faced, they are the most caring and hardworking students I have ever worked with.
They volunteer to clean up our community after school several times a year with one of our teachers. They give back to the school with projects around the building. They help out teachers by volunteering to assist with them. They help new students learn their way around the school. They are great role models!
Our class is studying Shakespeare and reading one of his plays this year. My students have never had an experience seeing a Shakespeare play performed live. I am planning on taking them to see "A Winter's Tale" in March by our local Shakespeare Company. This would be an amazing cultural experience in the field of performing arts for these students. Plays are meant to be watched and experienced as an audience, not just read in class. I believe that this would make the world of Shakespeare come alive for my students. They are very excited about the idea to go into the city and get to see a play.
