Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are amazing! All of them are bilingual or are learning to be. Some of them have three languages. These kiddos are the future adults I want to be caring for the world. My students come from all over to attend our dual language Spanish/English school and their families are diverse in culture.
My students are curious about the world around them and so eager to learn.
They are a dynamic, interesting, and interested group of young people who love to learn about life.
My Project
Oh, to be the lucky kids at the Table of the Week. They get excused first to go to lunch or recess, first to be at the carpet, first at the drinking fountain. That's great, but being first in line is only so much of an incentive. I am hoping to have special crayons and pens for the students at the Table of the Week to use all week.
Coloring with special things is a huge incentive for everyone.
I am requesting sidewalk chalk and a spirograph to be used during extra recesses that my class earns through "class points."
Finally, I am asking for Wikki Stix for my English Language Learners to use as a hands-on way to interact with words and spelling.
