My students need the dry erase lapboards for showing their work during math, reading, intervention, science, and social studies, so I can quickly tell who is getting it and who isn't.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
How can I close the achievement gap with my students if I do not have the necessary materials? My school is a Title 1 school with 99% free and reduced lunch. We have very limited funding and any extra supplies comes at the teacher's expense.
My students are economically disadvantaged with many being from refugee camps and war-torn countries and suffer emotionally as well as academically.
Their parents want the best for them but many times are unable to help them academically at home. Despite their hardships they are curious, creative, and eager to explore their new surroundings.
The students' at my school have many hurdles to overcome but despite this they make tremendous gains each year both academically and socially. I am very proud to work with this population of students and wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
My Project
All students deserve to have the same basic supplies whether they are Title 1 or not. The supplies that I have requested will help my students to strive for success.
The clipboards allow my 1st graders to move about our room and work in their best learning spot.
They will also use these at their centers and to work on projects in a team.The dry erase lapboards will be used in every subject area. They allow the students to practice math facts, spelling words, sight words, write a response sentence to a question, etc. They also allow me to quickly see who gets it and who needs more help.The sit spots are great for classroom management on the carpet and also for playing various games.The dry erase circles will be used at our small group table for writing responses and practicing various concepts such as; writing our numbers, letters, sight words, spelling words, etc.
All of these materials will make a difference in my students' learning on a daily basis. When students have great materials to work with it gives them pride in their learning environment.
