Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach a group of kind, caring, generous and motivated 2nd grade students in a Title I school. My students love to take on challenges and see their own growth. Many of my students have economic difficulties and live in a community with few resources available. Growing up in this community is not easy and I have a strong desire to provide all my students may need in order for them to be successful.

My Project
Students in my classroom love to do art and the unfortunate pandemic situation we are all going through, has taken away the opportunity for them to gain new art skills and experience hands-on messy projects that help them develop in all aspects.
By providing basic art supplies to my students, I hope to be able to give them a little of that physical classroom art experience that they desperately want and help them gain access to new ways of learning through art.
My families are undergoing difficult economic situations and struggling to provide basic necessities. They are hard-working families trying their best to support their children during distance learning. If you help provide some of these materials, you will be granting some relief to these families and allowing my students to gain the full art experience that they deserve. You will also help them develop fine motor skills, make scientific observations and sparkle a little joy in their lives during these difficult times.
