My Students

My students come from homes that are ethnically and socioeconomically diverse. Students speak many different languages and come from a variety of home environments. I teach art to every child in the school from kindergarten through sixth grade. It is my goal that through this art program, students will be exposed to a variety of art mediums and techniques. I also strive to provide them with an opportunity to express their culture and heritage and encourage them to always create meaningful art.

The art room is a place for all students to create art that allows them to tell their story and share that story with others in the community.

My Project

These foam boards and tape will allow students to experience a variety of art mediums in artmaking. The frames will be used to hang one art piece by every student. This will help increase self esteem for each child and give their artwork a show worthy appearance for our spring art extravaganza.

Art allows us a safe place to connect with others as we learn and grow as people.

All students deserve to be celebrated and a school art show will give us a the chance to celebrate young artists and reconnect as a school community through the arts.
