All Students Are Special

My students need simple resources, such as pencils, markers, a sharpener and seat sacks, as resources and space are in short supply.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students in my inclusion classroom have huge hearts but small pockets. They come to school challenged by learning disabilities as well as financial hardship. They don't have simple things like pencils, pencil sharpeners, crayons or notebooks. Give these students an opportunity to get to work!

These young second graders attend school in a city.

Most come from hard working families that don't have money to spend on school supplies. Many of their parents do not speak English and are unable to help them with their homework. School is challenging enough for these students. Not having simple things like paper and a pencil make it impossible.

My Project

My students need simple resources, such as pencils, markers, a sharpener and seat sacks, as resources and space are in short supply. Having simple, essential resources available to students is necessary for learning in the classroom. Having simple resources readily available to students can make a big difference in the way a child spends his/her time in the classroom. Rather than wasting time looking to borrow a pencil from a friend, students will be able to get their work started and stay focused for the amount of time allotted for a task.

The resources we need are basic and inexpensive yet our students can't afford to buy them for themselves.

Please help supply the everyday basics to our young urban students so they can write, problem solve and create every single day.
