This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I am inspired by thirty individuals with various ranges of ability and and from various backgrounds.

Despite the many challenges that my students face, they show up everyday ready to learn. They are filled with hope for a bright future. They work hard to achieve their learning goals. They have a variety of interests that keeps a spark in the classroom. I am honored to work with them and enjoy seeing their confidence grow!

My Project

My students will be able to immerse themselves into award winning books. This will allow them to read a variety of excellent books at their reading levels. The students will have an opportunity to have rich discussions about the varied topics of some outstanding staples in children's literature.

The books will expose my students to award winning authors which will continue to motivate them to seek out more titles by these authors.

I am fully confident that my students will take advantage of such a rich collection so that our class will achieve great success with the Accelerated Reading program.
