My Students
My kindergartners are such sweethearts. They approach every day with enthusiasm. We sing songs, dance, and read. We are in a Title I school, so most of my students come from low-income housing. The majority of the class receives free or reduced lunch. They don’t all come with what they need, but they all come with what they can. My students come from diverse backgrounds, but they all bring the willingness to know the joy of learning. They deserve a wonderful, enriching experience for there first time in school!
My Project
Now that we are back to in-person learning, my kindergartners need to be able to spread out around our room in order to follow social distancing guidelines. These carpet squares allow them to sit anywhere while staying safe and comfortable. They can take a break from the chair and desk to find their own little space! Many children prefer using clipboard while working on the floor. Best of all, we can have a “picnic” lunch in the room or outside on the sidewalk.
The chalk set will encourage individual play that is creative without worrying about spreading germs from shared materials.
