Our students are highly motivated since they are earning a 2-year college degree as well as their high school diploma in only 4 years. Without our school and the support we provide, many of our students would not have this higher education opportunity.
Over 70% of our students are from economically disadvantaged situations and will be the first in their family to graduate with a college degree.
Our school is only 5 years old and we need many resources so we may provide our economically disadvantaged students with the best education possible! Please consider donating to our growing college chemistry classes!
One thing you can never have enough in classrooms is power outlets! We work hard to utilize online learning and take advantage of the students having laptops, but keeping them charged can be tricky.
Our students use laptop computers in all their classes, so it's important that we keep their devices powered up!
Their devices don't always come to school fully charged to begin with, but using them all day also drains the battery. Since the (few) outlets we do have in the classroom are really far away from student desks, just plugging computers in to charge can be difficult. I'd like to purchase eight power towers with extension cords—one for each of my student learning stations so they can keep their devices up and running no matter where they are working!
This year has been tough with Hurricane Harvey and a lot of change, so we're doing everything we can to make our school the best learning environment possible!
