I met my students while I was student teaching last year. They were in 1st grade and they were the most wonderful, beautiful, kind-hearted, funny children I had the pleasure of teaching. I enjoyed going to school every day and by the end of my time, I needed to come back!
My scholars are highly motivated and are passionate about reading!
However, as a first year teacher, I haven't been able to get a hold of a wide variety of books. I am hoping to expand my library to help my students continue their passion for reading.
My Project
I am asking for books, books, books and more books! As a first year teacher, I need to start and expand my library.
As of now, I do not have a leveled library, guided reading books, or books for the kids to just read during silent read.
I have selected leveled texts, 2nd grade favorites, and more. These are some of a wide variety of resources needed to help grow my library. I will use these books to create different libraries within my classroom for the kids to enjoy and also help continue to grow as readers. Each child will be given the opportunity to have their own collection which will help expand their reading levels. My students will have plenty of opportunities to read these books throughout each day.
I am desperate for any and all books that people will donate to me. I cannot thank you enough for your donations!
