Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a classroom kindergarten teacher in a low-income as well as high poverty school district. The students love coming to school each day. The teachers and staff are committed and dedicated to the children they teach day.Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with positive learning experiences each day. Early literacy is the key foundation to our young children in our urban classroom. Children in our school will value literacy and learning as school community.

My Project

Good Morning, Good Morning to You! Beginning our day together on a community carpet, sets the tone for the day. The children will have the opportunity to sit together and share learning experiences on a bright and vibrant carpet, filled with educational opportunities. This carpet will allow the children to have their own personal space as they look at the alphabet and bright colorful numbers and shapes as they begin their day in kindergarten. The opportunities are endless for this lovely learning carpet in our classroom. The day will be filled with endless stories and sing-alongs as everyone will have their own special spot!
