My Students
I teach an enthusiastic and intelligent group of ESL students, which they have never experienced distance learning. Due to COVID-19, all schools in the State Of New Jersey has transitioned into distance learning. The transition has been quite challenging since several students don't have internet service, which those students receive paper copies of the assignment. Yet, they aren't able to participate during the online class sessions.
However, this drastic change hasn't curbed their desire to learn and be successful.
Each day my students log-on with a "Never Give Up" attitude, which makes each day a new adventure. My students still want to continue learning and growing academically. Providing them with well planned and distance learning will ensure that their education continues.
My Project
COVID-19 has changed our way of learning and teaching. In March our school abruptly closed, which forced us to take part in distance learning. The transition to distance learning has been challenging because I don't have access to items that are genuinely needed to function effectively. I have been doing my best to create engaging lessons and experiences to keep my students motivated and eager to continue learning! However, my laptop is an older model and gets slower as time goes by and crashes often.
Now with distance learning, a good computer is more important than ever.
A MacBook would help elevate our virtual experience; I will be able to connect to my students more effectively through online platforms such as Zoom. I can better demonstrate various actions and ideas when screen sharing with students. I will also have the capability to access popular apps, ebooks, and educational websites. Also, the essential items I requested will give me the ability to redesign my kitchen into a functioning classroom, where I can teach effectively. These items will provide my students with an online learning experience that can be disseminated with ease and functionality while giving my students a meaningful and fun learning environment.
