Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are caring, friendly, kind, and always eager to learn. They come from mostly Spanish speaking homes with primarily low income, where both parents work full time. 96% of our school is on Free or Reduced lunch plans. I have students who come from rough homes, but you would never tell because of the smile on their faces. Some of my students struggle with reading and writing due to English as a second language, but they are always striving to do better. They love technology, interactive lessons, Physical Education, and anything that involves science or watching things grow. I am excited to see what the future holds for each of them.
My Project
My students are at the point in the year, where they need engaging, hands on, learning to keep them going strong until Summer. These supplies will help my students learn through different STEAM projects. They will be able to watch the butterfly life cycle up close, learn how slime is made, build with magnetic blocks, and have positive incentives for their behavior and progress. Students learn better when they are involved and hands on. All of these items will help my students be successful and prepare them for second grade. Providing students with the tools they need to succeed in the future!
