Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My kindergarten students will graduate from high school in 2035 and many of the jobs they will see likely haven't been created yet. In an increasingly digital world, some of the most critical skills I can teach them are teamwork, imagination, problem solving and creativity. Many children these days are used to being entertained by screens and less accustomed to using their imagination and peers to play and work cooperatively.

This project will provide my students with engaging hands-on center materials that allow them to build those soft skills of imagination, sharing, and teamwork that are so critical to success in life especially in 2023.

My students will be able to use these centers regularly throughout the year as early finisher activities as well as during center time. Through their use of these hands on, open-ended activities, they will learn to communicate with their peers, take turns, experience trial and error in the engineering process, engage in imaginative play and so many other priceless learning opportunities.
