Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach 48 wonderful kindergarten students, ages 5-6 years. They are so excited to be in "big kid school." I would love for them to be able to build as strong a foundation as possible this year with the basics of reading, writing, and language arts.
Kindergarten is where it begins!
We really love technology, but sometimes its hard to keep little ones waiting while others are using the available technology. It would be so amazing if we could get seven Kindle Fire 10 Kids Edition! My students are learning so much, and I want to ensure that they keep that enthusiasm up throughout the year. Thank you!
My Project
Kindergarten is the year of firsts. Students are experiencing regular school for the first time, and it's exciting! In all this excitement, it's important to keep in mind that they have to learn all of the foundational skills that will carry them all throughout their school experience. In this day and age, technology is a huge part of this! It provides support for students in addition to my lessons. For such a young age, tablets are a simpler means to a desired end goal in my class: learning to read.
I believe that kindergarten is where learning begins.
With these tablets, my wonderful students will be able to access additional sources of differentiated instruction programs. They will also be able to listen to books on the tablets which will allow them to work on and improve their listening comprehension skills.
