My Second-Grade students are curious, loving, brave, intelligent and wonderful citizens. Sadly, the majority of them deal with things at home and in their neighborhoods that affect their ability to be successful in the classroom. For many of them, school is a safe haven and we form very close relationships!
At our school and in our classroom, we celebrate individuality and focus on what makes each of us special and unique!
Every student who walks into my room is someone who is capable of incredible things and it is with great pride that I help them achieve!

My Project
In second grade, we integrate art into a lot of our learning. It is used not only to complement learning standards but to allow for creativity, expression, and ownership of our work!
Typical art supplies lack the assortment that fully and truly represent the incredible diversity that we celebrate in our classroom- these allow for students to express themselves (and not just in peach or brown!) I purchased 2 8-packs last year and they were a huge hit.
