Help me give my students art supplies that represent the diversity within our classroom!
This project expired on December 12, 2019.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
My Second-Grade students are curious, loving, brave, intelligent and wonderful citizens. Sadly, the majority of them deal with things at home and in their neighborhoods that affect their ability to be successful in the classroom. For many of them, school is a safe haven and we form very close relationships!
At our school and in our classroom, we celebrate individuality and focus on what makes each of us special and unique!
Every student who walks into my room is someone who is capable of incredible things and it is with great pride that I help them achieve!
"... teach young people early on that in diversity there is beauty and there is strength".
In second grade, we integrate art into a lot of our learning. It is used not only to complement learning standards but to allow for creativity, expression, and ownership of our work!
Typical art supplies lack the assortment that fully and truly represent the incredible diversity that we celebrate in our classroom- these allow for students to express themselves (and not just in peach or brown!) I purchased 2 8-packs last year and they were a huge hit.
I hope, with your help, to be able to ensure that all of my students will have access to this invaluable resource!
