My Students

Musical, creative, inquisitive, and energetic: these are all words that describe my students. They love to sing, move, play instruments, and learn in hands-on ways. They love to use drums, Orff instruments, and ukuleles in our music room, and they love to perform.

Around 25% of our students come from military families and this brings them their own unique set of challenges.

We have also received new students from Puerto Rico due to Hurricane Maria. I want to teach them a love for music that will last them their whole lives.

My Project

Our All-County Elementary Chorus consists of a diverse group of talented elementary musicians. When these students come together for rehearsal, it is a thing of true beauty! They are learning about each other and their different backgrounds and experiences, and they are also coming together to rehearse a variety of music that celebrates and exposes them to many different countries and cultures.

Additionally, in involving several different guest clinicians, students are learning about the differences in conductors and the ways that they choose to lead music for a wonderfully diverse musical experience.

We look forward to providing our students with this wonderful opportunity by using a guest conductor. This is also a great opportunity to teach our students about the finances behind planning such a big event and the fundraising and budgeting that is involved.
