My students need jump ropes for aerobic activity and coordination (and just fun). These are high quality for durability. They are the right size, and easy to use for kindergartners.

My Students

My students are bright, energetic kindergartners.

Our school is 100 percent free and reduced lunch, which indicates pervasive poverty.

Many of my students are children of parents with drug problems, or who are incarcerated. There is also a large percentage of working poor, including a significant amount of single mothers. Most of these children live in neighborhoods that are not safe for them to play outside unsupervised. It is often the case that the only exercise they get is at school.

My Project

My class is learning about different types of exercise to strengthen their body. We have a wonderful staff of dedicated teachers who take their charge to enrich their students lives very seriously. It is our passion. However, our school does not have the funds to keep a well-stocked inventory of P.E. equipment. What items we do have are old, and in pretty bad shape. I have a couple of jump ropes (that are actually too big for them) that they absolutely love. I am requesting a class set so that we can use them for P.E..

These jump ropes will not only provide the aerobic exercise they need, but will also enhance their gross motor skills.

I am hoping to give them the experience they need now to make them strong and healthy. Even more so, I would like to instill in them the importance of getting regular exercise, and demonstrate how fun it can be! Your help would be so appreciated! Please make this possible for my little guys. Thank you!
