What I love about my students is that they are so loving and excited to learn. They are at an age where they still love their teacher and want to please. They are kind and caring for the other students in the classroom. My students are easily influenced by the adults in their lives and they need good role models that demonstrate appropriate behavior, building relationships, and setting goals for themselves.
My students are caring and accepting of others regardless of diversities in race, culture, needs, and interests.
The most important characteristic of our classroom is a family type culture that focuses on respect for one another's differences and opinions. Everyone has an important part to play in our classroom.
My Project
I have chosen books that will interest my students according to their individual interest surveys. My students wanted specific series, books with sports themes, and non-fiction books about the real world. I want to build a classroom library that students can dive into and get lost in books that will let them experience things they may never be able to experience in real life.
Students will only become lifelong readers when they find books that personally interest them!
Reading should be fun and students will enjoy reading when they have a variety of books to choose from that spark their interest.
