This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are special little individuals. My students are first grade dual language students that are working towards being bilingual and biliteracy. They are living proof that when you put your mind to it you can do anything. They reside in a community that is highly impoverished area which lies under the LAX runway, noise, smog, graffiti, drug activity, gangs violence is all part of their day to day. They are survivors and show resiliency when they focus at school.

My Project

This science resource cart will help my students to be exposed to high level thinking. They will be able to pre-plan and discuss with a partner or group a strategy. They will delegate tasks to group members and hold each other accountable. They will execute their plan and make changes as they see fit. These skills will allow my students to not only learn the Next Generation Science Strategies they a leaning leadership and new job market skills for the 21st century. Students need to be not only technology savvy they also need to be free thinkers who can problem solve and can collaborate with others.
