Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My class consists of twenty happy and energetic preschoolers. Each day they walk into school with smiles on their faces, ready to learn something new. They come from low socioeconomic backgrounds but all share a common love for learning! My goal as a teacher is to make learning fun. I want my students to be creative and comfortable in expressing and sharing their ideas and feelings when learning. My school staff and administration are very supportive and all want what is best for the students. However, due to budget cuts, funding for classroom needs has been limited. My students deserve the best!
My Project
My classroom is in need of materials for the block center. One of our classroom themes is Community Helpers. However, we do not have any materials that my preschoolers can use in the block area to support this theme.
I am requesting an Around Town play carpet in which my preschoolers can layout and discuss the various community workers we have in our communities.
The cars and trucks requested will allow my preschoolers to have fun and enjoy the experience of matching and driving cars to different community buildings. These materials will help my preschoolers explore different community helper roles while playing and having fun at the same time!
Finally, who doesn't love a train set! This would bring so much joy to my preschoolers to have in the block center. I can already hear them saying, "Choo Choo!!"
