Help me give my students items needed to support our Makerspace. Glue guns and popsicle sticks are what the students use most of when they are building thier projects.
Our school is the only STEAM magnet middle school in the county. I am creating a space where students can come to create and explore. My students are learning how to build perserverance, basic problem solving skills and learning how to focus on a task at hand that will show them the failure is a lesson not an end.
My students are becoming real world problem solvers.
They are working with everyday materials to solve everyday problems. My students are learning to work collaborativly and are embracing the Design Process. Student voice gives our space meaning that is authentic to our schools community.
We have a unique learning environment that encourages tinkering, open-ended exploration and learning that is driven by the students. My students learn by the motto of "The more you learn and do, the better you are to compete".
My Project
Students come into the Makerspace to create and bring thier ideas to life. Students work through the design process to create prototypes using popsicle sticks and glue guns to bring thier learning to life. The paint will allow the students to bring in the artistic elements into thier projects.
In the Makerspace they collaborate, problem solve and create a mindset and an approach to learning.
The items on this list are hot items that my students need the most of when creating. The Makerspace allows students to be creative and to think outside of the box and create what is in thier minds. It is a place to create, produce, and inspire. It is a place to make meaning.
