My Students

My students are amazing because they face socio-economic challenges all while sustaining a positive outlook on their goals to be a contributing member to our school's concert band. My students grow in my class because they are able to explore music in a non-judgmental and nurturing environment.

My students seek companionship, structure, and the intellectual growth that comes with becoming a musician in band.

Being a Title I school where most students receive free or reduced lunch, many families struggle with being able to afford the necessary supplies to be a part of band.

My Project

My school has acquired a bari saxophone! We are very excited to start a student on the bari saxophone. This will help the band have a more complete and warm sound.

We just need a few more items in order to make the saxophone playable.

The mouthpiece and reed would make the instrument complete. The harness will help my students hold the instrument as they play.

The entire saxophone will be used by a student who also made it into our area honor band. In addition, it will be used in a saxophone quartet at a solo and ensemble competition.
