My Students

We are all about the reading apps in room 303! We love iPods. My students were able to use two iPods borrowed from the media center for the first part of the year, but sadly, we had to return them so that other students in the school could have a turn using this fabulous technology.

My first grade students come from a variety of backgrounds.

I have several students who are learning English as a second language, and almost half of my students receive speech services. Their academics cover the spectrum from low to high. Regardless of their academic standing, the wonderful reading apps available for the iPod Touch provide meaningful remediation for students just learning to read as well as challenging activities for advanced learners.

My Project

An iPod Touch would allow my students to access reading apps, which are provided by my school, to improve their reading skills. Because there are so many quality apps available, the iPod Touch would enable my students to learn and practice reading skills at their skill level.

Students are extremely engaged in their learning when using the iPod technology and the reading apps.

Using this technology to help with reading instruction is an exciting and powerful tool that children love. Please help make our classroom wish a reality.
