My students need sensory materials and supplies to help facilitate being able to remain calm in the classroom! This will help cultivate stategies to support their sensory knowledge of the world! It will help them develop new ways of processing the world around them!
I teach a PALS class with age ranges from 3-5 years old children.
The students in my class have a range of disabilities, from Down Syndrome, Autism, Global delay, and speech language disorder. But, they are all incredible unique learners with the willingness to shine as individuals!
My students learn best when we capture their innate curiosity and use it to fuel development.
Each of my students are special in their own way, we differentiate instruction for each student across all domains of development. We individualize each of their learning. From learning how to talk, to using a fork and spoon, to building the social skills to participate in games with their peers - each student in my class truly thrive from the best interventions.
The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students already have a "home." In other words, I know exactly where everything will go. We just need your help in getting everything through our door! The table will be placed in the corner by the front of the room and we will make a new nook as a gathering place for a calm down area. The children can spend time immersing themselves in the sensory tube digging their little hands in and our of rings, spaghetti, and beads, feeling the different textures that you made possible for them. This will give them the much needed time to calm their bodies so they are able to come back to the teaching environment and re-ready to learn and play with their peers.
