Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are elementary students in a special education classroom. They are kindergarten-second graders who are eager to learn, especially using technology. About 90% of our students are African American. I'm a teacher in a low income/high poverty school district. The students attend school with many challenges.
They do struggle with their reading and math skills.
Most of my students are functioning at least two years below their grade level. My students are more than one grade level behind compared to their peers. The students at my school receive 100% free lunch.
My Project
The copy paper will help so I can print lots of teaching materials for reading and math hands on and centers. My students enjoy colorful, engaging, and hands-on learning centers. The requested materials such as the clipboards, write and wipe markers, write and wipe magnetic boards, and laminating pouches will be helpful with the creation of hands-on centers. This will allow my students to get much needed practice and learning in reading and math.
My students are several grade levels behind so lots of hands on and centers activities are so needed for their differentiated needs in reading and math when they come to my class.
It would be helpful if they have an assortment of activities to complete in centers. The laminating pouches will help to make the center materials reusable and will allow for write and wipe ability.
