Mrs. Farmer from Bedford HTS OH is requesting a class trip through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need a hands on learning experience through a field trip on the Good Time III River Cruise and materials to create a book that captures their learning.

We are filled with joy and excitement every morning when we enter our classroom. We are fortunate to be able to work with a fantastic group of students. They are the most hard working, caring, and supportive group of students ever! They are goal setters and achievers. They impress us each and every day! One can learn so much from just being around them.
They are an unique group of students who have a special zest for learning.
They are an inspiration to everyone they meet. The students are in a self contained special education classroom. They have the opportunity to work with both a paraprofessional, interpreter, and myself throughout the day. The students are identified as having multiple disabilities, autism,or an intellectual disability. They push through their individual roadblocks and keep learning their number one priority.
Our students need a hands- on learning experience through the Good Time III River Cruise. The cruise will give the students an opportunity of a lifetime. We will be studying social studies, language arts, and math standards that will be brought to life on the cruise. Hands on learning is powerful for our students and will help students better understand the topics discussed. Everyone learns in a different way, and this experience will deepen their learning while exposing them to new interests. The class book that we create will highlight experiences and mastery of the academic standards that we are working on. The opportunity of the class working together to create and publish our book will be priceless.
The experience of the project will have a direct impact on each child.
The trip will bring many topics to life and clarify learning. The process of researching the history of the bridges and becoming a co authors of our book will deepen their understanding and development of their creativity. The book will document their experiences and learning while providing a way to reflect on the trip and maintaining the learning standards.
