Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I am just moving from middle school to kindergarten. What I love about kindergarten is seeing their faces light up when they finally understand what they are learning. I even love to see their faces just when we learn something.

They are eager to learn.

I need to be able to provide them materials to fuel that fire of learning. Hands-on learning and real life examples are even better, especially for the younger kiddos. They will love the new experience and opportunities that they will receive.

My Project

When we return from spring break, our Kindergarten classrooms will be starting animal and plant life units. This is something that I always found interesting as a student and even today.

I like to provide hands-on, real world experiences to my students.

The butterfly garden and aquaponics system will do just that. When I was in elementary school, we always did a butterfly garden and I loved it. I want to bring that same joy to my students. Aquaponics is a new and innovated technology that not all people know about. I would like to have the opportunity to show my students this side as well.
