My Students

I teach at a Title I school. My students work hard. Oftentimes they are working with old outdated materials. Their home lives are difficult. Many have no books at home to use.

One of my students was so excited to be back to school after Christmas break so he could read an actual book.

He was also excited to use his Chromebook.

Books, headphones, and learning materials are key to a great education.

My Project

Using decodable readers during small group instruction will build a firm phonemic base for reading. Magnetic letters will be used to help kiddos manipulate sounds and blend those sounds to form words. My students will thrive with hands-on materials. Being a good reader is key to feeling good about yourself.

Wow - can you imagine having to share earbuds?

My kiddos do. Headphones would be an amazing tool especially during high COVID transmission. A classroom library with grade level favorites will encourage students to lose themselves in the wonder of reading.
