My Students

My middle school students are amazing! They are a part of a small rural school district that strives to achieve on all levels. Like many rural communities, we have been affected by the lingering economic situation. Our school has a very high rate of students participating in the free and reduced price lunch program. Many families have lost their income because of businesses closing and jobs being scaled back. Resources at school have also been cut drastically because of declining enrollment when families look for employment elsewhere.

My Project

A calm and mindful classroom is essential for the whole child. Having Alexa help control music and the Himalayan Lamps will make this happen. These are just a few tools our class can use to foster their well-being. My goal with this donor request is to provide my students with the tools to act on their self-awareness and increase calmness.

I am confident by equipping my students with sensory supplies, their social and academic achievement will only increase.

In addition to the lessons on mindfulness and character skills, these classroom tools can ensure our class' success with the ability to create calmness.
