Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
"This is the best day ever!" I promise I'm not exaggerating when I say I've heard this a few dozen times this year. Whether my students exclaim it during a hands-on math activity, reading about mammals, or while zooming cars off ramps in order to write a lab report, it's clear they love to learn.
My second graders are a hard-working, fun-loving, kind-hearted bunch at a Title I school south of Seattle.
Representing cultures, languages, and regions from around the world, they bring so much joy and curiosity to our classroom!
My Project
Coming from an underserved population, my students do not have access to experiences or opportunities in which to challenge their thinking, grow their knowledge, or learn in an experiential way! Please help me change this and grow their love for math! These engaging math games, colorful tools, and exciting books will allow my mathematicians' minds to grow and expand. My mathematicians will be learning while playing, without even realizing they are doing so! I cannot wait to see the smiles on their faces as they solve puzzles, read stories, questions ideas, and become more fluent mathematicians. Thank you in advance for your support!
