Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
"What is computer science and how do we program that?" students ask as they enter our school's Computer Science Pathway. Wide eyed and full of excitement, our students are passionate about creating solutions with code.
Located in a high poverty area, our students are constantly looking to use technology to solve problems that they encounter.
Limited access to computing devices does not stop their creativity in designing solutions. We would like to expose students to a larger variety of tech. devices and programs, so that they can expand their knowledge base.
My Project
Most of my students are taking their first high school AP course, and they are nervous about prepping for such a high stakes test in May. Access to an additional set of practice questions will help them feel more prepared, both now and during review time in April.
Albert.io licenses for my students will allow them more opportunities to track their learning through the digital platform.
They can see immediate feedback, try problems again with alternate questions, and continue practicing their skills without needing to carry around stacks of paper to do so. These licenses will help my students earn higher AP scores, motivate them to take more AP courses, and help them be more prepared for post-secondary college and career options.
