Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
When you first walk into my class/lab you will realize that there are 300 unique students. They all come from different backgrounds and deserve to have the best so they can make a difference in the world.
“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” ― Nelson Mandela.
Our school is a low resource school. Each student has a story. Some of them come from really rough homes where school is usually not the first thing on their mind. Others, they come from very loving homes but still have many struggles at home. No matter what the differences are, they have learned that we are a family and they treat each other with that respect. They are a wonderful group of students who are eager to learn.
My Project
Our kindergarten, second grade, fourth grade and choir students will be putting on an Aladdin Kids musical for their spring performance. We are in need of the showkit so that we have the cast lines, music and the licensing to perform it. This will be our first time putting on a musical to this extent. The students are very talented and I know that this will be a huge success and further their musical growth. The students are already talking about how excited they are for this performance.
It is a wonderful way to engage all the students and their families.
Our past musicals have been a hit. Providing the students with an opportunity to put on a performance that is based off of a well known movie, will be something new and exciting that will broaden their musical exposure.
