The 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students at our school are a great group of students where most come from low-income families. They are ready and willing to work hard to improve themselves and their communities. All of these students get free breakfasts and lunches when they come to school.
We are underfunded and are located in a low-income area.
We are located in a small fishing community in south Alabama. Many of these students come from single-parent households and can't afford even the most basic school supplies, let alone a huge trip to compete in Kentucky.
They are hard-working, bright, and driven archers who care about the sport and helping set a good example for community and family.
My Project
Help the AMS Archery Team get to Louisville, Kentucky to compete in the National Tournament. Your donations make it possible for my kids to shoot in a nationwide competition. They will get to interact with students from all over the country and this will truly be an amazing learning experience. Some of my kids would not be able to make the trip if they weren't able to ride the bus. It is a 9-hour trip one way. Not to mention riding a bus with your team builds friendships that last. The kids make memories that will last a lifetime.
This opportunity to travel is a very worthwhile cost for all of our archers, and I don’t want one of them to miss it because of money costs.
If we can get our bus funded, these very deserving students will be able to show off their archery skills against the best shooters in the U.S. This means we will be able to take the burden off the families to provide the finances for this trip.
Our kids deserve to go because they have earned the right and money shouldn't keep them from competing. Our kids will be doing other fundraisers to pay for the rest of their expenses. This trip will allow my archers to compete on a national stage. Some of these kids have never traveled out of the state. They will be able to establish lasting relationships with each other as well as their coaches.
