Each student in my school receives free breakfast and lunch due to the overwhelming poverty of our community . My scholars need every opportunity to escape the poverty they know and be prepared with 21st century skills. These students need my support in the classroom so excuses can be a thing of the past. Their time can be better utilized and capitalized on helping them escape the holds of poverty.
My students range from IEP, to AVID (Advancement via Individual Determination), to robotics students, to science, to honors level.
My Project
My students live in an impoverished area of extremely low-income families. We are a Title I school where one hundred percent of our students receive free lunch and breakfast.
Ink in the classroom will be a relief for students not to worry about one more thing and having to spend extra time to hand copy notes or hoping that the school copier has ink and paper.
My students need ink to copy cornell notes for annotating, copying notes from classmates when absent, copying worksheets, pictures and typed work for projects, etc, and to support my individual student's learning styles. Ink will provide my students with the resources they need to be successful students in the twenty first century. Providing my students with ink will improve their academic life, especially since most of my students do not have the resources (printer/ink/paper) at home. In the classroom, it is required of a student as it is for students in college to have a laptop and the adult work to utilize technology for presentations, reports, and research.
