Mrs. Russell from Shullsburg WI is requesting instructional technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.

Agriscience Takes Flight

My students need 5 drones. Students see and hear about drones on TV and in video games almost every day. This project engages students and shows students the potential for technology in agriculture.

My Students

Students in my class are hard workers and are curious about the world around them. They prefer to work with their hands. However, test taking skills are important to help students succeed after high school.

Students have a strong base of knowledge but don't always have the skills to apply that knowledge to real-world applications.

The school district is very rural and student opportunities are limited because of our geographic location. The district has a 42% free and reduced lunch rate. Combining these factors makes science education important to success later in life.

Students are eager to learn and need access to hands on materials to help them to see their potential.

My Project

In this project, students will be able to learn how to pilot and apply the use of drones to agricultural systems. Students crave the opportunity to get up out of their desks and explore the world around them.

Drones have the ability to capture students attention and allow students to apply knowledge from the classroom to real life situations.

Purchasing 5 drones allows more students to be a part of the activity. This helps prevent students from just watching and gives all students in the class a chance to use the technology. This type of hands on activity keeps students in my class engaged.
