This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am excited to be moving from fifth grade to sixth grade with my students this year. They are an amazing group of students that I have been lucky enough to teach in second, fifth, and now sixth grade. My school serves students from kindergarten through eighth grade. We are a Title I school and all our students are eligible to receive free lunches.
My students are hardworking and eager to learn.
Unfortunately, these amazing students don't always have access to some basic supplies that students take for granted.
I would love to give them a COOL place to learn and grow!
My Project
My students don't get many opportunities for after school activities. I am starting an after school Spanish club for students in grades 5 through 8 to meet once or twice a week. The students have expressed an interest in this since we have some Spanish speaking students in our school that don't speak any English.
I would like to make learning fun to encourage them since I believe learning a second language is extremely helpful.
I have some Spanish books since I have been trying to help the new students but would like some games and snacks to help students be more excited about learning and studying.
