My students need a video camera to record performances for people to see and to upload them to social media. We need speakers because we practice and perform outside and there is absolutely no sound available.
I absolutely LOVE teaching at my school! Our students are in incredibly hard-working group. They LOVE learning and always want more challenges.
My class is the most deserving group of children that I've ever had the privilege to serve.
Recently, I've started an after-school club. Students from grades 3-5 meet in my classroom, we move the desks back, and we learn steps from African-dances and traditional college fraternity and sorority steps. Our students love performing in our school assemblies, parades, and talent shows. Some students who could not connect to school, have begun to smile and enjoy the new friends and "fame" that they have acquired by being on our step team.
Our team is open to whomever wants to join; there are no try-outs. We welcome everyone who wants to learn new dances and traditions.
My Project
My students need a video camera so that they can have the opportunity to perform and to share their performances with others via Youtube or other social media. They love sharing their performances, but right now the best we have is a camera phone, so the quality of the performance is not captured.
We need speakers because we often perform outside and don't have access to a sound system.
We also need printer paper and a printer because parents love photos of their children and we can remember all the fantastic performances that we've done. Each child can have a keepsake, each time.
