Help me give my students two ready to use first person viewer drone kits to get hooked and learn to fly and two racing drones that they can modify and improve.
We have very curious students at our high school who are willing to learn new skills and concepts in order to take an interest and grow it into a full blown passion project. In a STEM equipment rich environment, the Engineering labs at our school have the resources to support a new program, but are looking at drones as a way to attract nontraditional students into these learning spaces.
We have a highly motivated and diverse group that includes mostly non-traditional students in engineering that are looking to apply their digital design, precision manufacturing, and physical computing skills to the growth of an aeronautics program.
My Project
Our Design and Engineering lab has a state of the art facility and Aeronautics club is ready to take full advantage while emphasizing continual improvement, fun, the empowerment of students to set their own performance objectives, and ensuring gender and racial harmony.
While our school has the infrastructure and resources that can sustain the Aeronautics club with the purchasing of small parts such at propellers and batteries as well as consumables such as 3D printer filament and carbon fiber sheets, we need help with the upfront costs of big ticket items such as the first few EMAX drones, transmitters and goggles.
